Copper-alloy ring
Intact, cast, band ring. It was found in a village in Pieria’s perfecture, Ayios Dimitrios, and is dated to 10th and 12th century. On its flat circular bezel bears an intaglio representation of a military saint within a circle. The saint holds a staff on his right hand with a cross on its top and a sword in his left hand. The shoulder of the ring is decorated with a row of dots and lower down a spiral. The hoop of the ring is flat and open at the base so that it could be adjusted to fit to different sizes of fingers.
