Part of a built ciborium, that is a vaulted roof supported by four thin columns and placed above a special structure where the relics of Constantine Mesopotamitis, the bishop of Thessaloniki in the beginning of the 13^th century, were kept. The funerary monument combines sculpted and painted decoration. Nothing has remained from the sculpted decoration, while the painted decoration on the exterior part has preserved the Archangels Michael and Gabriel inside circles (medallions), and the interior part of the ciborium’s arches represents Apostle Paul and one young martyr. Similar ciboria have been placed above the Holy Altar of churches.
