Hyperpyron of John III Doukas Vatatzes
On the one side is depicted Christ enthroned, while on the other the Virgin crowning the emperor. It is one of the coins struck at Magnesia of the empire of Nicaea that was founded by Theodorus I Lascaris after the Constantinople’s conquest by Latins.
